Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Pinallo (“Pinallo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit pinallo.com, use the author dashboard at app.pinallo.com, or otherwise interact with our writing, publishing, print, audiobook, and support services.

2. Information we collect
Account information. Name, email address, password or authentication credentials, and profile details you provide when you create or manage an account.
Project content. Manuscripts, outlines, interviews, story bibles, covers, publication metadata, exports, and other creative materials you upload or generate in the dashboard.
Billing information. Subscription plan, payment status, and related billing records. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and product feature usage needed to operate and improve the service.
Support communications. Messages you send through help chat, live support, email, or contact forms, including any information you choose to share with our team.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Pinallo’s products and services
- Power AI-assisted writing, outlining, editing, covers, audiobook, and related features you request
- Process subscriptions, invoices, and customer support
- Secure accounts, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
- Send transactional emails (for example account, billing, and product notices) and, where permitted, product updates
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
4. AI processing
When you use AI features, relevant project text and instructions may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as language-model or voice services) solely to generate the outputs you request. Do not submit content you are not authorized to process. We do not sell your manuscripts as training data.
5. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run Pinallo, including hosting, authentication/database, payments (Stripe), email delivery, analytics or monitoring tools we enable, and customer support tooling (such as live chat). These providers may process data only as needed to perform services for us.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (in which case we will take reasonable steps to keep your information protected).
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and understanding how the site and app are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit certain features.
7. Data retention
We retain account, project, and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your account as described below, subject to those obligations.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email hello@pinallo.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
You can update profile details in your dashboard settings and opt out of non-essential marketing emails using unsubscribe links where provided.
10. Children’s privacy
Pinallo is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. International users
Pinallo is operated from the United States. If you access the service from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice.
